Being Your Best

on July 10, 2014

It’s simple, really. Be you.

So many people think that in being your best, you have to change yourself and do things that you normally wouldn’t do. You have to achieve unrealistic goals in unrealistic ways and push yourself to the edge.

I’m just here to say that’s crazy.

Being your best doesn’t mean that you have to win a million awards or work your way into top management within a month of being hired. You don’t have to change your personality to fit others better or to be able to work a certain job that others want you to have.

As I said earlier, being your best means to be you.

Nobody is perfect.

Let’s say that again. Nobody is perfect.

Perfection is a fictional world that we all dream of. Perfection is so far out of our grasp, that it doesn’t even exist to begin with.

There is nothing wrong with that.

Everyone has flaws. Flaws are beautiful. Flaws are real.

You just need to try to reach the goals that you give yourself. You need to put out the work that you can and learn to grow in areas that need growth. You can’t expect growth to happen overnight. It takes time.

Travel the road that looks brightest to you. Take on jobs and hobbies that suit your interests and your strengths. Enjoy life. Don’t do things that make you sad or make you feel like the world is falling out underneath you.

Be you.

Nobody else can. Even if they try their best, they will never be your best.
